Hope & Glory Soccer Tournament

The motto of the first Hope & Glory Soccer Tournament in 2023 was: "Fathers should turn their hearts back to their children. In return, the children can turn their hearts back to their fathers." Supported by the Chance Youth Foundation, this tournament offered an outstanding opportunity to bring families closer together and strengthen relationships.

A soccer tournament with heart

In a world in which children are often only recognised in passing, this tournament represented a significant challenge. But it was not just about soccer; rather, the focus was on getting parents more involved in working with their children and strengthening the emotional bond. Because only when young people grow up strong and self-determined can they lead a fulfilled life.

For young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in particular, where a lack of prospects, drugs and crime are a sad reality, the Hope & Glory Soccer Tournament is an important step towards encouraging their intrinsic motivation and offering them a positive outlook.

Hope & Glory Soccer Tournament 2024

The Hope & Glory Soccer Tournament also took place successfully in 2024. The focus was on getting parents onto the pitch and supporting their children. One of the main problems in Kranshoek is that parents often do not invest enough in their children. With the participation of 6 teams and around 200 adults supporting their children, this tournament was also a great success.

The children who took part in the event were between 10 and 15 years old. After the tournament, there was an opportunity to talk to the parents and children about the importance of fathers reaching out to their children so that the children can in turn reach out to their fathers. This was followed by a family barbecue attended by all participants and their parents.
