Chess

Teaching chess is more than just learning a game - it is a valuable opportunity to discover children who have intrinsic motivation, patience and a desire to change their lives. These children show through their engagement in chess that they are ready to take on challenges and continuously develop themselves.

Skills for the future

The skills learnt in chess, such as strategic thinking, problem solving and perseverance, are crucial to the future success of these children. Through targeted support, we can help them acquire the tools they need to lead self-determined and successful lives.

Investing in youth

By recognising and promoting the importance of chess in youth development, we are helping to ensure that young people's lives succeed. Chess is more than just a game - it is an investment in their future.

There is currently a group of 20 participants at the House of Hope and Glory who regularly take part in chess lessons, from beginners to advanced players. A chess tournament is also being planned to give the children a platform to demonstrate their skills.
